HOOD

As Music Director, Brad joins the creative team of composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn (Lysistrata Jones, Like Love) and Tony-nominated book writer Douglas Carter Beane (Little Dog Laughed, The Nance, Xanadu, Sister Act, Lysistrata Jones) newest collaboration: HOOD.

The Robin Hood theme of stealing from the rich in order to help the poor is designed to resonate with our better angels and humanity’s innate belief that good must triumph over evil.  All the evils of Nottingham and its marketplace of material goods as well as lies and half-truths are betrayed to the audience and exposed like a raw nerve. From a Robin Hood who initially doubts himself and his purpose in the world to his amassing an army of misfits that become his Merry Men, their Sherwood Forest-style socialism seems to be the cure to the schizophrenia afflicting them and their neighborhood. And then there’s Robin Hood’s main squeeze, Marian.  Unlike Romeo and Juliet where the star-crossed lovers are doomed to die next to each other, here the star-crossed lovers Robin Hood and Marian rescue themselves from the evil machinations of the King, Sheriff, and Courtiers of Nottingham.
